Quick Pay: Quick pay is a program offered by some brokers and shippers that pays a carrier faster than the standard terms in exchange for a small discount taken from the invoice.
Why it matters to owner operators
It gives you cash-flow relief without a factoring contract, but the discount is a real cost. Compare it with factoring fees and decide how much getting paid sooner is worth on each load.
Example
A broker offers payment within a few days at a percentage discount instead of net 30. A carrier short on fuel money might accept it on one load and decline on another.
